🥰 Things I’m Loving This Week

1 - Audiobook📚 Estrogen Matters by Avrum Z. Bluming, MD; Carol Tavris, PhD - I just finished reading Estrogen Matters and it really challenges a lot of what we’ve been told about menopause and hormone therapy. It basically argues that a lot of the fear around estrogen came from misinterpreted research, and that the risks were often overstated. The authors also show that, for many women, estrogen can actually make a big difference with symptoms like hot flashes, mood, sleep, and even bone and heart health when used thoughtfully. Overall, it made me feel like hormone therapy is way more nuanced and should be a personal, case-by-case decision instead of something to automatically avoid.

2 - Video 🎥 The Ultimate Guide to Women’s Hormones - I just watched this podcast episode by Mel Robbins where she talks with OBGYN Dr. Jessica Shepherd about women’s hormones, and it was honestly super eye-opening. They break down how hormones like estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, insulin, and testosterone all work together and affect everything from mood and sleep to weight, energy, and your cycle. What really stood out is how much stress and blood sugar can throw your hormones off and show up as things like PMS, anxiety, fatigue, or brain fog. They also talk about how to actually support your body in a simple way—like eating balanced meals, prioritizing sleep, managing stress, and paying attention to your cycle instead of ignoring symptoms.

3 - Probiotics🍎 I have recently started taking a live probiotic in the morning with a pinch of cumin to help support my hormones. I feel like it’s a small habit, but it’s helping me be more intentional about my gut health and overall balance. I’ve noticed it makes me feel a bit lighter and more “steady” through the day, like I’m not as bloated or up and down with my energy. It also just feels good to start the morning with something simple that I know is supporting digestion and, indirectly, my hormones. I’ve been using Nancy’s Yogurt—you can find it here.
